The Catholic Community of St. John the Baptist:

All Young Adult (18 yrs - 39) we meet at St. John's in the small conference room next to the office every Thursday at 7:30 starting September 7th.  Feel free to come by whenever your schedule allows. Any questions please call Tina at 253-630-0701.

 
All Young Families, we have a group for you!  Starting September 10th you will be able to bring your little ones to the nursery after the 9am Mass and visit with other parents of preschoolers and younger while enjoying cookies, coffee and the company of fellow parents.  We will soon open this up for those interested after the 5:30 Life Teen Mass as well.
In the meantime, join other Young Families of Faith on August 20th at 3:30 outside by the picnic tables for a BBQ.  Bring something to share and enjoy hotdogs and hamburgers provided.

Then this ministry option is for you! St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Covington, WA, a dynamic community living its faith though the model of stewardship - where all are called to ministry by their baptism, seeks a Pastoral Assistant for Youth Ministry (5th-12th).  This is a full time/40 hours per week non-exempt position.  Parish staff members need to be skilled in facilitating and fostering a sense of mutual ministry with and among all members of the parish community.

 The successful candidate will be an active member of a Catholic parish; have at least two years (four preferred) experience in Youth Ministry and Retreat work; a B.A. degree or equivalent in related field (open to work toward a Masters in ministry); demonstrate ability to recruit, form, and maintain active teams of volunteers; be proficient in communication with many different mediums; have the capacity for strategic planning and initiatives; and have exceptional interpersonal skills, especially with youth and families.

This job requires strong abilities to build healthy relationships, seeking to meet our young people where they are, spiritually, psychologically and physically. We want someone who can lead youth to a deeper spiritual understanding of God, themselves and the world we live in.
