We invite people to the McMullen Center after the 9am and 11:30am Mass four to six times during the year to socialize with other members of our faith community. We provide coffee, donuts and juice making for a pleasant setting in which to gather and share.

CRAFT & HOBBY GROUP

We meet 5-6 times per year on a Saturday,(10am-5pm) to work on our crafts or hobbies and chat with like-minded friends. There is nothing to buy– you bring your own sup-plies. We provide lots of workspace, you provide a small snack to share with the group and a brown bag lunch. In January, we offer a 2-day retreat with meals provided.

The Creative Kindness Sewing Group is a collection of sew-ers that do community sewing projects. They gather month-ly and share a potluck or brown bag lunch. Fabric patterns, cutting equipment and sewing supplies are provided. If the sewer has a sewing machine they are encouraged to bring it. (Some machines are provided.)

The mission of the Funeral Reception Committee is to pro-vide a familiar, comfortable gathering place to share memo-ries and food with family and friends after a funeral. Volun-teers provide salads or desserts and/or assist on the day of the reception.

Prayer shawls through the ages have provided comfort and peace. They are a blessing to the recipient as well as the shawl maker. Prayer shawls are given by parishioners to anyone in need due to illness, crisis or in time of grief. In addition, other knit and crochet items are made for charities.

Socially Active Singles group provides fun social events for the single members of the parish. We are made up of never-married, divorced and widowed members. We range in age from young adult to senior citizens. Our commonality is that we are single Catholics (non-Catholics are also invited). We have a regularly scheduled event the 3rd Friday of the month.

The Strong Bones Yoga ministry is a St. John the Baptist community group that meets weekly on Thursday mornings to promote health and wholeness of body, mind and spirit. The Confirmation Prep Team provides a program to help youth prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation. They faciliate small groups, help to prepare session materials, assist in large group activities, retreats, liturgies and other events involved in the Confirmation process. They organize and put on reception following the Sacrament of Confirmation. Any amount of involvement is welcomed.

Life Teen ministers to senior high youth through the Life Teen Mass, our weekly Life Nights, retreats, and through social outreach to the wider community. Our purpose is to reach teens on all levels: emotional, intellectual, spiritual and relational, with a strong focus on the Eucharist through the Life Teen Mass. We provide faith formation classes during the Sunday Mass-es for preschool children for three, four and five year olds and those six year olds in kindergarten. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities within the faith formation program: assist with curriculum selection and planning, become a catechist and teach a class of your own, assist with supplies, direct the music program, assist in the classroom or assist at social gatherings.

We are the leadership team chartered with ensuring that we have well maintained facilities and grounds, which meet the needs of the parish community. We sponsor various committees responsible for maintaining the facilities and grounds. We initiate and carry out periodic maintenance and inspection of the facilities.
